House Bill 2675, adressing Patients Access To Hawaiian Medical Marijuana, Has Been Approved By The House Committee On Health!
Urge Your Legislators To Improve Hawaii's Medical Marijuana Law.
Read the Resolution Check Hearing Status

With the help of our testimonies, House Bill 2675 passed the State of Hawai'i House of Representatives Health committee. After being adopted by the entire House of Representatives, the Judiciary committee has deferred and is yet to vote on the resolution.

HB 2675 calls upon Maui County's "family farmers" to supply the medical needs of the community. The County of Maui will control medical marijuana by taxing and regulating individual patient's leased plots on secured agriculturally-zoned land, allowing patients to grow collectively and always have access to their medicine.

We know we are not alone; Last year, the State of New Mexico passed legislation creating a state-operated medical marijuana distribution system and the State of California Board of Equalization levied a 7.25% sales tax on medical marijuana sales.

Be part of the change and part of the solution!

Please contact your Representative as well as the members of the House Judiciary Committee and tell them how important it is that they address the needs of Maui patients registered with the state to possess and use medicinal cannabis. For your convenience, contact information for the Committee is available here.

Three of the members of the judiciary committee are from Maui.

Kyle Yamashita, Maui's upcountry representative, actually voted against the resolution.

We urge each patient to submit testimony online (write about the difficulties acquiring and growing meidical marijuana--because of theft and reliance on the 'black market') and call their State Representative in support of HB 2675; to urge for a hearing now that it has been passed by the Health Committee and to share their story.
